One of Winter Olympics’ most loved sports, Luge will be played at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics from 10 to 15 February 2018. Though the number of events isn’t as many as the other popular sports, the popularity of Luge is still equal to all of them. Fans love watching the intense racing between athletes aiming for a podium finish. Luge has played the role of champion decider on many occasions. The four medal events will be a key for all the participating nations this time around as well.
Luge was first played back in the 1870s somewhere in Switzerland, and it debuted in the Winter Olympics of 1964. Last time around, Germany ran away with all the four gold medals up for grab. This time also the German contenders pose a solid challenge to all the other athletes. The Luge events at the 2018 Winter Olympics will kick start with the men’s singles runs 1&2 on 10th of February followed by the men’s singles runs 3&4 on 11th, Women’s singles run 1&2 on 12th, Women’s singles run 3&4 on 13th, Doubles runs 1&2 on 14th, and the Team Relay event on 15th. All the events will kick start late in the day.

While America will be having their dose of Winter Olympics actions satisfied through NBC, most of Europe will be having their eyes on Discovery’s EuroSport. NBC and EuroSport will be covering up most of the participating countries with their official live stream channels for Winter Games 2018. A total of four medal events have been scheduled for Luge at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. There will be a Men’s singles run, Women’s singles run, Doubles Run, and a team relay. Men’s and Women’s singles run will be done in four stages each. Tickets to all the events will be made available on the official NOC websites of each participating nation.

The four Luge medal events are slated to be held at the Alpensia Sliding Centre between 10 to 15 February 2018. A maximum of 110 athletes will be allowed to compete at all the four events combined. The qualification will be based on the world rankings of results from 1 November 2017 to 31 December 2017.
